چکیده

Magnetic susceptibility χ of pristine and brominated arc-produced sample of multi-wall carbon nanotubes was measured from 4.2 to 400 K. An additional contribution ∆χ(T) to diamagnetic susceptibility χ(T) of carbon nanotubes was found at T < 50 K for both samples. It is shown that ∆χ(T) are dominated by quantum correction to χ for interaction electrons (interaction effects-IE). The IE shows a crossover from two-dimensional to three-dimensional at B = 5.5 T. The effective interaction between electrons for interior layers of nanotubes are repulsion and the electron-electron interaction λ c was estimated to be λ c ∼ 0.26. From the time of discovery nanotubes one of the most important problems is the possibility of a superconducting state in them. In a series of experiments were observed the effects which indicate on its existence. There is supercur-rents through single-walled carbon nanotubes [1], persistent currents and magnetic flux trapping [2]. As is known the nature of a superconducting state is the electron-electron interaction (Namely-attraction between electrons). On the other hand electron-electron interaction is exhibited in electronic transport properties of conductors in normal state-so-called quantum interference effects-interaction effects (IE) [3,4]. IE are connected with the correction

Load transfer and deformation mechanisms in carbon nanotube-polystyrene composites

Multiwall carbon nanotubes have been dispersed homogeneously throughout polystyrene matrices by a simple solution-evaporation method without destroying the integrity of the nanotubes. Tensile tests on composite films show that 1 wt % nanotube additions result in 36%–42% and ;25% increases in elastic modulus and break stress, respectively, indicating significant load transfer across the nanotube...

Enhanced Adsorption of Hydroxyl- and Amino-Substituted Aromatic Chemicals to Nitrogen-Doped Multiwall Carbon Nanotubes: A Combined Batch and Theoretical Calculation Study.

A large effort is being made to develop nanosorbents with tunable surface chemistry for enhanced adsorption affinity and selectivity toward target organic contaminants. Heteroatom N-doped multiwall carbon nanotubes (N-MCNT) were synthesized by chemical vapor deposition of pyridine and were further investigated for the adsorptive removal of several aromatic chemicals varying in electronic donor ...

Simple Photovoltaic Device Based on Multiwall Carbon Nanotube/Silicon Heterojunction

Multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) are grown via chemical vapour deposition method directly on a stainless steel substrate. Raman spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy are the techniques chosen to characterize the structure of the synthesized carbon nanotubes: few structural defects are detected. After their removal from the stainless steel substrate, the as-grown MWCNTs are then a...

Bioelectrochemistry of hemoglobin immobilized on a sodium alginate-multiwall carbon nanotubes composite film.

This study described the bioelectrochemistry of hemoglobin (Hb) at multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) noncovalently functionalized with biopolymers of sodium alginate (SA). The characteristics of Hb/SA-MWCNTs composite film were studied by using FT-IR spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy and electrochemical methods. Hb immobilized on SA-MWCNTs composite film retained its native secondary structur...
